"The SA-Standarte Feldherrnhalle was created in 1935 as the Sturmabteilung’s elite guard unit, protecting the Nazi Party and Nazi state offices. Headquartered in Berlin, it had battalions across Germany and took part in the 1938 Anschluss. Later subordinated to the Wehrmacht, much of it was transferred to the Luftwaffe in 1939, with parts incorporated into army units. It remained in existence on a smaller scale during World War II. Members could wear a special insignia with the Feldherrnhalle emblem."
